I. Three aspects of the Gospel of the Grace of God.
i. The Gospel is a Revelation of the Grace of God i. Grace is foreign to the natural order of the world. ii. Grace is absent from the world’s religions. iii. Ephesians, 2:8 tells us it “is the Gift of God.” Gifts are not earned iv. Grace is the opposite of the Law 1. The law was given through Moses, but Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ 2. The Law shows what is inside of mankind and points to our sins, while Grace points to Gods Love and Mercy 3. The Law demands Righteousness but Grace bestows Righteousness v. Grace is the opposite of Justice. Justice requires everyone to receive their due, but Grace gives what we are not entitled to.
ii. The Gospel is a Proclamation of the Grace of God i. In the narrower sense it is proclaiming that the grace of God has provided a Savior for every poor sinner who feels his need and by faith receives Him. ii. In the wider sense it is proclaims the whole revelation which God made of Himself through Christ, it includes the whole New Testament. The Gospel affirms that Grace is the sinners only hope. Unless we are saved by grace we cannot be saved at all.
iii. The Gospel is a Manifestation of the Grace of God i. The Gospel is the “power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes” ii. It is the chosen instrument which God uses in freeing and delivering His people from error, ignorance, darkness, and the power of Satan.
