God is sufficient and can provide all our needs. Elijah proved this and proved God throughout his life. We need to prove God as well.
1. Elijah proved God in many ways and in many different situations
- Elijah proved God at Gilead when he prayed that God would withhold the rain - Elijah proved God at the brook Cherith where the Lord sent ravens to feed him - Elijah proved God at Zarephath where a widow fed him - Elijah proved God when he pleaded for the dead child's life to be restored - Elijah proved God at Mount Carmel where he was confident that Baal would not answer but the Lord would - Elijah proved God in a time when he was depressed
2. In order to prove God, we need to be guided by the Word of God and be obedient to it
- 1 Kings 18:1: "the word of the Lord came to Elijah" - If we want to prove God, we must be people of the Book - We get to know God through the Bible - Those who prove God must be men and women of prayer - The Christian life is one of constant interaction between our soul and God - When you are a praying person and a submissive person, you will prove God in extraordinary ways - If we prove God in life and live in submission to Him, we will prove God in death
