That is the question we must all ask continually. The temple was the dwelling place of the special presence of God. Because it was a physical place on earth there is a responsibility of those in charge of it to keep it pure and focused. The physical in Scripture is a type or illustration of the spiritual. This was a type of every believer individually and of the Church collectively. He has made you a temple, he has filled the temple with his glory, and he has ordained you to the priesthood so you might offer the sacrifice of your life that is made acceptable for Jesus Christ. It is our responsibility to maintain the holiness of the temple i.e. our bodies. Only then will we be a testimony of his reality and presents to the world.
