JOSHUA'S HUMBLE START -Moses taught Joshua to go to the battle field with the Lord's army, and to depend on God for the victory. Faithful men are engaged in the battle! Get into the battle for the kingdom of God! Fight for lost souls! Fight to see saints sanctified! Fight to see God glorified! The battle belongs to the Lord, and the Lord says, “Fight the good fight!”
JOSHUA'S FAITH AND ZEAL -Even though it nearly cost him his life, Joshua's faith and zeal for God made him willing to go against the flow of contemporary logic, “the men are giants and their cities are fortified, we don't stand a chance.” Joshua insisted that God would bless their bold faith. We need to have kingdom building goals and opportunity seeing eyes. Our God is bigger than any giant and stronger than any fortification.
JOSHUA'S ELEVATION TO LEADERSHIP -God raised up Joshua for leadership and established him as a leader the recognition and laying on of hands by Moses. The same can be said for Timothy, it was God who called him and Paul who installed him. The same can be said for N.T. elders, it is God who calls them and other elders that install them.
JOSHUA'S STRENGTH AND COURAGE -Weakness in men is often seen as spiritual in the church today. Weak, docile, quiet, mild mannered men are all too often upheld as the spiritual model. The Lord would not have it to be so. We need Joshua's! We need Caleb's! Listen in and find out what Biblical leadership is all about.
