2 Samuel 5 describes the answer to a mother's prayer. In 1 Samuel 2:10, Hannah, Samuel's mother, prays/prophesies that the Lord "will give strength to His king and exalt the horn of His anointed." This prayer is fulfilled in part by David, God's king reigning in the city of God, over God's people, for God's glory in 2 Samuel 5. Of course, the ultimate answer to her prayer will only come when the greater Son of David, Jesus Christ returns victorious, and the whole earth becomes the kingdom of our God and of His Christ. He shall reign forever and ever, Psalm 2; Revelation 11:15. |
