In a recent survey of professing Christians by the Barna Research Group, 50% believe you can earn your way to heaven based on good works while only 19% had a Biblical Worldview.
These and other troubling statistics should bring great concern to Christians. Much of this stems from a lack of Biblical teaching in our churches and homes.
When the Book of Acts is studied, we see a common denominator. According to Travis Yates, "when you read this Book, when you grasp on to the truths of this Book something very revealing occurs. Wherever the Gospel is proclaimed, whenever salvation occurs, we see persecution. There is simply no way around it when it comes to the Biblical Gospel. Now you can change the message, you can become like the world and you will not have to worry about persecution. In fact, you can succeed in the eyes of men but I'm not worried about the eyes of man. We should strive to always please God, no matter what the consequences, and He has promised that there will be consequences."
