All sin is serious as an act of rebellion against God. Sin never impacts only the sinner but all directly involved and has a ripple effect spreading far beyond what is often realized. Once sin is confessed and repented of it is completely forgiven by God. Sin forgiven does not mean there are not consequences as a result of the act of sin. However those consequences only multiply when the sinner is unrepentant and continues in it while the believer in sin will be growing in misery as they continue in compliance with their sin. The influence sin has on the heart and mind grows with every tolerated thought and act of sin. All sin is serious and must be dealt with immediately. Never to be forgotten is that the believer's appeal for forgiveness is always on the basis of the undeserved graciousness, lovingkindness, and compassion of God.
