Nicodemus came to Jesus by night to try to find out what He was about. Jesus was not dealing with a thief or a harlot, or leper, or a blind man, but a very religious man, and a part of the sect of people who despised and hated Jesus more than everyone else. Pharisees and rich men were the hardest people to reach, and yet here is one who was reached. When Jesus was crucified two people prepared his body for burial. They were Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus - a rich man and a Pharisee.
