Thesis: Scripture is to be feared and revered - honored
1. The Word of God is Sacred (v.15)
* Not just good literature, self-help, history - it is holy, set apart, special in a way that is above our meaning of the word.
* Very Word of God (divinely inspired)
* "all" = every word in Bible is God's Word - treasure
* history, archaeology, science, etc continually find Bible is true
2. The Word of God is Strong (v.15)
* Itself is able to provide salvation
* "These things were written so that you may believe"
* "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God"
* sanctifies and delivers into glory
3. The Word of God is Suitable (v.16)
* Word is to be used in every time and every situation
a. Teaching - shows what is true, right, doctrine
b. Reproof - convict of wrong thinking, doctrine, ideas
c. Correction - bring from conviction to right practice
d. Training - rigorous reinforcing of truth to shape for righteousness
4. The Word of God is Sufficient (v.7)
* Enough by itself to mold believer into God's image
* To make man able to please God and perform true good works
CONCLUSION:
Are you feeding yourself the Word?
Do you fear and revere the Word?
Do you value the Word?
