At the end of his life, Paul had the desire to see Timothy one last time. This desire was born out of three great characteristics that made Timothy's life a joy to Paul and made his life one to be desired and emulated by other saints: - Timothy was a gracious son to Paul (v2 - "my dearly beloved son") - Timothy had a great heart ("v4 - being mindful of thy tears") - Timothy had a genuine faith ("v5 - When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee")

A Very Desirable Sermon! I took many good notes from this wonderful exposition of second Timothy: verses one and two. I found myself applying the word in my own life and felt challenged to love those spiritual fathers and mothers the Lord has given me, deeply and more appreciatively. The Lord puts really beautiful and wise treasure in older saints and I pray that I will think about being a Timothy in my relationships. Really good teaching.
