FOR MY NAME'S SAKE: The true overseer of God's flock (as mentioned in Acts 20:28) focuses primarily on caring for the sheep, not on hunting wolves. In essence, genuine servants of God don't go out of their way to engage in conflict with those with whom they disagree. In contrast, a novice might devote his time and energy to seeking a wolf to fight, neglecting the sheep in his care. He might struggle to differentiate between imperfect sheep and those who genuinely intend to harm the flock. This lack of discernment can harm the weaker and sometimes uninformed sheep. The preeminence must be given to the name of Jesus and His word. Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; The Bible states that every knee will bow at the NAME of Jesus. However, Psalm 138 emphasizes that a name only carries as much weight as the associated word—the word of God in this context. Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. HAST NOT FAINTED: The believers demonstrated resilience and perseverance, patience in their work, and remained consistent in their faith.
