Above all, the character and actions of Jesus call for faith. That is the theme of this section — the war between faith and unbelief. In the exodus generation, unbelief got the upper hand, and their carcasses fell in the wilderness. That is a major danger for us too. Despite knowing all we know about Christ, despite seeing all His glorious works, we too can let our hearts be faithless. We can do what Journey urged us not to do — that is, stop believing. You can stop believing. Don't! Because if you do, you will not enter into God's heavenly rest. How do you keep faith alive? The writer tells us that we do it by encouraging each other every day. We'll talk more about that next week, though I hope to introduce the subject today. Encourage each other every day, as long as the "today" of the psalm lasts. If you do, you will share in Christ forever.
