His opponents included Margaret Sanger, Ida Craddock, Emma Goldman, and others of similar ilk. He was primarily responsible for the Comstock Act which limited the means of distribution of items such as contraception, pornography, and other items considered obscene. SEC. 2491. All persons are prohibited from importing into the United States, from any foreign country, any obscene book, pamphlet, paper, writing, advertisement, circular, print, picture, drawing, or other representation, figure, or image on or of paper or other material, or any cast, instrument, or other article of an immoral nature, or any drug or medicine, or any article whatever, for the prevention of conception, or for causing unlawful abortion. No invoice or package whatever, or any part of one, in which any such articles are contained shall be admitted to entry; and all invoices and packages whereof any such articles shall compose a part are liable to be proceeded against, seized, and forfeited by due course of law. All such prohibited articles in the course of importation shall be detained by the officer of customs, and proceedings taken against the same as prescribed in the following section: Provided, That the drugs hereinbefore mentioned, when imported in bulk and not put up for any of the purposes hereinbefore specified, are excepted from the operation of this section. “ Great Sermon! ” We may not encounter another like Comstock in our time but at least we can learn more about him and emulate his devotion to the Christian morals.

“ Great Sermon! ” The day Comstock died there were 50,000,000 Evangelical Protestants, but no one replaced him to keep a finger in the U.S. Postal Service's dike. Since that day, the obscenity, contraception and abortion protective levy has utterly collapsed imperiling billions of souls. In two years he will have been dead an entire century without a clear successor. Who is being called to take up Comstock's badge and build a global (U.N.-level?) dike to suppress vice?

“ Great Sermon! ” hmmm...this with Mr. Comstock, gives me a little hope;
I didn't know we went through a 'sexual revolution' before, complete with abortion, homosexuality, and pornography.
Now, we are 40 years deep into this chaos. There is also some young ladies wanting marriageandbabies together and in order.
The problem, is the men are into porn--rockers actually led the way
