Interposition is that calling of God which causes one to step into the gap. - willingly placing oneself between the oppressor and his intended victim. This can be done verbally or physically. The lesser magistrate demonstrates the doctrine of interposition by placing himself between the tyrant or bad law – and the people.
A quote which exemplifies the interposition of the lesser magistrate was actually made by a higher magistrate. Roman Emperor Trajan, upon giving a sword to a subordinate, said to him: “Use this sword against my enemies, if I give righteous commands; but if I give unrighteous commands, use it against me.â€

Great Sermon! One I Want to Share and Discuss What a blessing and encouragement! Pastor this sermon motivates me to get to know the "Lesser Magistrates" around me, even the deacons and elders in our local churches and to pray fervently for them, especially seeing the Holy Spirit moved Paul to instruct us to pray for those in authoriy in 1 Timothy 2 as it seems we are far from the so needed revealed will of God being done in this so important area of life both in government against tyrannts and in our churches against false teachers and teaching.

Great Sermon! This is so timely for today. Gave me a real lift in the face of so many indifferent "believers."I thank you. Posting to my FB page to encourage the few friends who are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.
