This chapter begins an interlude before the seventh trumpet judgment that extends through the middle of chapter eleven. This break seems to be in the middle of the seven year Tribulation period.
The magnitude of judgment to come will be experienced over the whole earth. A "strong angel" with a glorious appearance carries the message from the throne room in heaven. He speaks as God's mouthpiece with God's authority. Then God the Father gave John special revelation that was for him only, not be be recorded in the details given to us.
The last phase of God's program of judgment is to begin with no further delay.
Some conclusions from this study include: 1. Angels serving in the presence of God share in the glory of God. 2. Moving toward the final phase, God remains sovereign over all time, space and history. Everything is under control and on schedule. 3. Judgment will come forth on all of God's creation and then the final judgment at the Great White Throne of all rebellious people. 4. We haven't been told what we don't need to know. What we have been told we must heed and obey. 5. The character of God is absolutely transcendent.
