Jesus, and His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection totally fulfilled all such notions. Those were merely a shadow of the reality of Christ. Because of Christ’s open defeat of all the principalities and powers, there is no more need for the dietary laws, feast days and the sabbath days. Yet there were those who had a human standard for holiness, and one needed to line up with them.
