‘It’s All Over’ ran the Daily Mail’s headline on 8 May 1945 as it announced that VE-Day (Victory in Europe) had finally come!
It is vital to remember:
[1] THE INTERVENTION FOR THIS VICTORY.
In all pivotal events leading up to VE-Day, the hand of providence is apparent. Dunkirk and The Battle of Britain (1940), the North African Campaign and the Bumper Harvest of 1942, plus the D-Day Invasion (1944), proclaim:
God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform!
[2] THE IMPLICATIONS OF THIS VICTORY.
VE-Day signalled a victory over Nazism – and the philosophies on which it was built. Nazi philosophy rested on a series of lies, imported from the writings of C19th atheist / evolutionist, Nietzsche:
Lie #1: There is no God. Lie #2: There is no absolute morality. Lie #3: Human beings have different value according to their usefulness to society.
Offshoots of this thinking are the evils of Racism, Eugenics, and Euthanasia.
Sadly, Hitler’s record of suppression and slaughter did not perish with him in that Berlin bunker; it was outdone by Marxist leaders in Russia – and today, to our shame, this old atheistic / evolutionary philosophy holds sway in the 'bastions of freedom' in the West! Evolution is popularised, abortion is legalised, euthanasia is promoted, and eugenics is demanded.
[3] THE INTERCESSION BEHIND THIS VICTORY.
National Days of Prayer featured very prominently on the path to VE-Day. Today the need for prayer is as great as ever!
Featuring a sermon puts it on the front page of the site and is the most effective way to bring this sermon to the attention of thousands including all mobile platforms + newsletter.
Text-Featuring a sermon is a less expensive way to bring this sermon to the attention of thousands on the right bar with optional newsletter inclusion. As low as $30/day.
“ Great Sermon! ” Excellent research, and well presented Mr Brown! How far from the days of national calling on God we have fallen.. Like Laodicea, this land has need of nothing, is filled with its own ways, and has forgotten God.. Aithough it is only 60 years since the dark days of Hitler, already it seems like a myth.. and prayer is thought of as only for the weak... Keep sounding the trumpet brother! While our country sleeps and slumbers, and believes the Devils lies, Satan is laughing all the way to armageddon.

“ Great Sermon! ” Thank you for the message on V-E day memorial. I learned much history and of God's providence in Ian's message.

“ Great Sermon! ” I agree, plus somehow the old way of idolatry is coming back in a sense of
"images of virgins appearing on walls, in subways." I call for prayer before the Lord. Amen!
