Conversion always results in a dramatic life change inwardly for the believer. When going from a life controlled by Satan and sin to one yielding to the Holy Spirit of God and having the power to deny sin and self, the possessor of new life in Christ manifests the character of God. For some the outward observable change may seem less dramatic depending the life and lifestyle indulged in as an unbeliever. For someone like the apostle Paul it was a dramatic outward transformation. In contrast to pursuing believers in Jesus Christ to persecute them, upon conversion Paul immediately began proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ whom he had so passionately denied as the Son of God and Israel's Messiah.
In a great reversal, indicative of his conversion being genuine, the former persecutor had his life threatened for the very reason he had been instrumental in people being put to death. Paul's new career as he proclaimed the Gospel with boldness proved fruitful and effective as evidenced by the many converts. As he faced the persecution he bluntly stated the truth of the Gospel regardless of the consequences. With such boldness and courage the Gospel must be proclaimed yet today as there is still hostility and opposition from many of the lost.
