God is jealous, and when He sees us carrying on with an image, His jealousy rises up against us. From this fact about God's beautiful, righteous, and holy character flows this, His #2 command for His people. It is because of who He is that He says these things to His people; it is because He loves you and wants you to be like Him, jealous for His worship, that He lets you know this evening that trying to worship Him with an image is the worst kind of sin against proper worship.
