I like to name this passage "The Parable of the Soils" because the issue presented is the soils and not the seed or the sower. The soils represent the human heart and its different responses to the Word of God. In fact, our faith is related to one of the soils which means that only one of the 4 soils represents genuine or real faith. This would explain why some who appear to be believers abandon the faith. "The faith that fizzles before the finish was flawed from the first."
