Through this account of Nicodemus, the nature of the new birth is given. As Jesus told Nicodemus, we must be born again to be saved. We are regenerated through the Spirit's drawing us to Himself, and before we will come to God, we must be changed. To be born again, we must face and believe that Jesus is Who He says He is and that we are who Jesus says we are. Repentance, a key component of salvation, means we have a profound change of mind that affects how we act. True repentance is willing to be "all in" for Christ, and our actions will show what we truly believe. Jesus is the way of salvation to all who will look to Him, and those who have been drawn by the Father will come to Him. |
