If people in the Arab world, Israel, Africa, Asia, or the United States are going to be saved, it's going to be through the gracious provision of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation is God's work, completely and fully. That's why it's effective. Why do I struggle with that? Well I was baptized. I take the sacraments. I belong to this church. I do good. Put it all on the rubbish heap. Salvation is the work of God. There is no place for self of any kind. Self image, self esteem, self worth. All the praise and glory for salvation belongs to God alone. How you see me doesn't matter. How I see you doesn't matter. How God sees us makes an eternal difference. And He says we are all filthy and defiled by sin. We love the song, I Did It My Way, but keep in mind there is a way that seems right but the end is death. Nothing else will make a difference for time and eternity in a sinners life except except the gospel for Christ.
