Philippians 4:1-5 Study The greatest motivator in loving our co-laborers is the fact that Jesus is coming again. The Greek language has three words for love: eros, phileo, and agape. The source of the disturbance in the church was due to two prominent ladies in the church: Euodia and Syntyche. Who they were and what caused the trouble between them is not known? Only one thing is known about them: they were quarrelers, two women who differed and who bickered and argued, criticized, and dissented, murmured and grumbled. There are certain steps that are key to achieving peace. We must remember that: Peace comes through standing fast. Peace comes through agreement and unity. Peace comes through rejoicing continually & repeatedly. Peace comes through a strong gentleness. Jesus has given us some wonderful teammates in the context of the local church. When there is contention on the team the contest is lost. When we heed the warnings and work together, we are assured the win.
