2 Peter 1 Part 1 | We receive faith through Jesus Christ. Peter is writing to brothers and sisters who have received salvation through our God and Savior Jesus Christ. When believers of Jesus gather together, we do so in the presence of almighty God. People who receive the salvation of God, receive knowledge through a relationship with Him. God lives His life in and through those who believe. If we know Jesus, we want to be like Him. God places His nature inside His children. It is God who gives us everything we need for a life of Godliness. Once a person comes to faith, they are to work at adding goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love in increasing measure. Peter ends this section in verse 10 by stating that we need to make every effort to confirm our calling and election.
