The Olivet Discourse, or "Little Apocalypse", is a teaching monologue of Jesus. The predictions are about the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70. Although some believe the discourse deviates in v24 to prophecy Christ's final return, we show why this is an unnecessary compromise. The chapter's portentous language is seen throughout scripture to symbolise cataclysm, and we can read this chapter in the same way. When Jesus said some of his hearers would live to see all these things come to pass, he meant just that.
