In Exodus 15 we see the response of the Moses and Israel to the saving deeds of God: worship and grumbling! This chapter includes the great triumph song of Moses and the people immediately after God's defeat of the enemies in the Red Sea battle, but it also includes the introductory episode of the 'grumbling' response of Israel in their relation to God's care. We have already seen something of this in earlier responses to Moses' ministry in Egypt, but the theme becomes a reiterated one in the ongoing story of Exodus, and in the wilderness wanderings in Numbers.
