'Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely'. Our founding fathers understood the corrupting nature of power and wisely distributed the authority between three branches of government. But the most efficient form of government is a monarchy. But where will this world find someone who could weld absolute power without it corrupting him? That person will be Jesus Christ who at His second coming will rule the world. He will rule by virtue of His victory as the Conqueror. But He will also rule by virtue of the fulfillment of God's promises to Jacob, to David, and to the nation of Israel. As the Lion of Judah, (Genesis 49) He will be the ultimate ruler who will reign over all nations during a time of unparalleled prosperity.. As the Son of David (2 Samuel 7), He will sit on the throne of David over the kingdom of David in fulfillment of the promise made to David. As the Son of God (Isaiah 9), He will not only combine the role of the Lion of Judah and the Son of David into one person, but have the character to be able to handle the absolute authority placed on His shoulder. All three prophetic lines converge in the person of Jesus Christ (Luke 1) He is the LION of Judah, the Son of David, the Son of God!
