His purpose was securing salvation and laying the foundation for the coming Kingdom. It's not a biography of the Apostles Peter and Paul. ¶ Acts is about the ministry of the Holy Spirit in spreading the message of Christ. The Providence of God is pointed out. It shows how the hand of God was guiding the growth of the new Church. ¶ The Providence of God often does not spare the believer of suffering as can be seen by Paul's life as told in Acts. God said Paul was going to Rome, but Paul was probably not expecting how hand of God was going to get him there. ¶ This was the first imprisonment in Rome of Paul. He was there in two years and wrote the prison letters, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon. Paul's jail time in Rome was very productive for the Lord! ¶ Acts 28:30 Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who were coming to him, 31 preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hindrance. ¶ We are to share the Gospel as Paul did, Luke pointed out that through the Holy Spirit followers of Christ are to witness about Him.
