The first segment of the eternal kingdom is a one thousand year period during which Satan is bound and Christ reigns on the earth.
Entering the kingdom will be believers who have been a part of the first resurrection. This resurrection includes the Tribulation martyrs and Old Testament saints. Joining them in the kingdom will be believers from the Church age who were resurrected and raptured prior to the Tribulation. Anyone who is not a part of this first resurrection will come under condemnation at the second resurrection.
After this first thousand year segment Satan will be released and he will pick up where he left off in his rebellion and defiance of God. People born during the millennial period will have a sin nature. Many of those will, when they have opportunity, choose to align themselves with Satan when he is released. They will join him to make war against Christ.
This confirms that sin is a matter of the heart where in the source of sin and rebellion lies. Having been born in a perfect environment that will be ruled by a perfect King they choose to follow Satan into a battle that never takes place. With perfect execution of His righteousness and power every unbeliever is immediately killed.
