The Kingdom of God. This was Jesus major preaching theme. The reason is simple. He came to usher in the kingdom because he is the King. Isaiah prophesies of a coming king who will rule in righteousness (Isa 32:1). This day will dawn when the Spirit of God is poured out from on High (Isa 32:15). It will fully arrive when the Spirit makes all things new (Isa 32:15). Jesus reign is present for the Spirit has come (Acts 2). Jesus reign is also spiritual, for this is what his kingdom is (Luke 17:21). But the day will come when Jesus spiritual reign will be wed with a physical reign over all creation. In this fullest physical sense, Christ's reign will be maximized in the future. God's plan has always been to glorify himself through the Son and the Spirit. Come and see how he does this in Isaiah 32. Then be strengthened in your faith while you continue to persevere in very faithless times.
