One of the most heralded figures in the life of the nation of Israel was King David. David, along with Abraham, and Moses, was the most important person in the history of the jewish people. It was through King David that the Kingdom prospered, coming to its fullness during the reign of his son, Solomon.
Then, the cycle of idolatry came back on the scene. After Solomon the Kingdom would be divided, ultimately resulting in the casting off of the Kingdom, and the people being dispersed throughout the world.
David looked unto the promises of Jehovah, that His Kingdom would be an everlasting Kingdom, with Messiah ruling and reigning forever. |
