Theme: Distress helps us find our hope in God. In Psalm 42:1-4, we see that distress is absent in the presence of the Lord. In application, we need to seek to be in God's presence. In vv. 6-10, we see that distress is designed by our sovereign God. We need to make sure we don't waste what God has given us. Two pillars to remember: God is sovereign, and God is good. In Psalm 43:1-4, we see that distress leads us to the gospel for our joy. We must not allow the discouragements of life to define our life. We need to seek God and set our hope in Him. He is both sovereign and good. Let's set our hope in Him!
