The saving work of the Mediator did not stop when he ascended into heaven. Rather, Jesus is still saving us today by making intercession for us to the Father.
Because of this work, we can be confident that there can and will be no obstacle so great as to prevent our salvation. Whatever the obstacle, 'He is able to save to the uttermost.' Jesus is able to save me from all my sins of the past, all my present weaknesses, all the trials, persecutions and temptations of life, all the terror of death and judgement by his living intercession. What a comfort!
