We have completed our study of the first three chapters of Galatians, and now we shall begin our study of chapter four.
In the beginning verses of chapter four, Paul continues by illustrating the difference between a child and a grown person, with a child being held in bondage, or a slave, to a guardian, but when the child grows and matures, he is set free to become a son.
So Paul says to the Galatians (and us, by the way), don't relinquish your sonship to return to live under the bondage of a guardian.
Chapter three ends with Paul reminding every believer in Jesus Christ that through faith we are all baptized into Christ. We are sons of God, and he describes the believer's position in Christ as an heir to God's promises to Abraham.
