Amaziah was the son of the boy king, Joash. When it appeared that the royal line of David had been wiped out -- God brought a period of stability to His covenant people by the lengthy reigns of Joash, Amaziah and Uzziah.
Unfortunately, like his father before him, Amaziah started out well and ended poorly. Many lessons are drawn from this verse by verse exposition of 2 Chronicles 25. The Chronicler himself was warning the exiles returning from Babylon not to follow in the ways of Amaziah.

Great Sermon! It's frightening to hear of people falling in their later years. I love this sermon, I was hanging on every word. It's obvious that this Pastor has a great love and knowledge of the O.T. This series in the Kings of Judah has been a blessing and I'm looking forward to more.
