Changes in the world today that are going on among the nations are involved in God's orchestration of events that set the stage for what He has planned next. The scriptures reveal that to be the rapture of the Church to be followed by the time of the great Tribulation. As the time nears for which only God knows the day and hour the rebellion against Him builds. The scriptures tell us that God has restrained evil with human government since the time after the great flood of Noah's day. With judgment forthcoming God removes the restraints He has imposed through human means and sin becomes all the more open, shameless, violent, and prideful exposing the depravity of the heart of man. The heightening of evil and overt wickedness is a ripening for judgment as God turns man over to destruction by his own choices and pursuit of sin. The heart of man being exposed proves once again the truthfulness of God's word as He has diagnosed the fatal heart disease of man as being deceitful and desperately wicked.

Excellent sermon -- more than meets the eye! Gil, only mentioned one specific verse from Jeremiah, Jer 17:9, but did mention the Book a couple of times. I found it fascinating because I just read through the Book of Jeremiah, and I was always struck by the fact that one could almost always easily substitute USA for Jerusalem (!)¶
While the main point of Gil's sermon wasn't the collapse of countries before the return of Christ physically to Earth, there certainly were examples of it!¶
