Proverbs is filled with practical principles. They are to guide us — so we can see His "rule of thumb" on life, and recognize and understand the wise and their sayings. They can help us examine and govern our own steps so we can continually set ourselves up to appreciate and affirm God's wisdom.
The rule of thumb on a matter, helps us discern the rightness or wrongness of people, principles, practices and patterns in life.
What God says about a thing is more important than the thing itself.
People are either: Right: Meaning they are right with God, by God's grace and through faith and declared to be RIGHTEOUS
Or
Wrong: meaning they are NOT RIGHT with God and declared to WICKED.
The WICKED/WRONG are then described as sinners who are:
1. Simple men are in the dark and have no clue about heavenly things. They are simply ignorant or without knowledge. They have light of some things but the light they have is darkness.
2. Fools have a view of the clue but reject it, for they are convinced and determined their way is better. The light they have is darkness like those who are simple. What separates the fools from the simple is the simple have no clue to act on whereas the fools have rejected the clue the simple never had.
3. Scoffer, Scorner, Mocker
Those who are fools but have become confident and brazen in their folly and set out to harm, hurt and silence those who contradict their ways, lifestyle and agenda.
Wise men are meek and humble and realize they do not know all their is to know about something so they are teachable and increase in learning.
