We are going to look at the whole of chapter seven this morning. As we have said this follows from the shema, to love the Lord your God will all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your strength. We have also seen how on this hang all the law and the prophets. In fact the whole of the post-amble is about the importance of the shema which rephrases the first two commandments and Moses then went on to elaborate on what it is to hear the words and to obey them. To love the Lord your God and the way this is to be applied is set out in the subsequent chapters, the postamble or addendum. So we will continue to hear more of the shema as we look at these following chapters of Deuteronomy.
