1. First and foremost the preaching must be Christ-centered 2. The preaching must be doctrinally theologically sound. 3. There should be sound application from the text in the preaching , with exhortations to warn Christians against laxness in duty. 4. With the warnings to struggling Christians should also come comfort, so that when they fail in their duties, they are reminded that Christ Alone is their hope and trust. 5. The lost must be warned that without Christ there is absolutely no hope and any comfort they may find outside of Christ is false comfort.
