When it gets personal... they will either love you or hate you. People will stand with you, as long as it doesn't personally effect them or their livelihood. But let it get personal and it will get pivotal in an instant. People are a fickle breed... they'll die for you one morning and long to kill you by evening.
Take a walk with me? When I last walked through Luke and John's gospel I kept seeing the difference, the eternal difference, between those who come to Jesus to get something [FROM] Him, and those who come to Jesus to be [WITH] or [PART] of Him. Now, that difference is enough to have eternal and temporary ramifications... Jesus knew it and insisted they did too. And He's dealt with it in every chapter thus far. Check it out... from chapter one to eight, in John's message, the crowds come, but why are they coming to Jesus? What does He see and say? How strong are you? How strong am I? How strong is His body?
He was anointed to serve the gospel to the humble... and ONLY the humble. A prideful heart has no palate for what Jesus was given to serve.
Grateful for grace... that prepared my heart for His feast.
"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor..." â€â€(Luke‬ â€4:18‬)
