And thus we need someone who can help us, come to our aid. Jesus Christ is the Great Sympathizer! He had to be made like us so that He could experience firsthand what it means to be human. He entered into our world in order to help us. And today, seated at the right hand of the Father, He is our merciful or compassionate High Priest. He can be touched with the very feelings of our infirmities. He knows what it is like to suffer as a human being. He is also our faithful, dependable High Priest who has made atonement for our sins and lives to aide us in our time of need. He stands ready at the throne of grace to grant us the grace to help us in our time of need!
