Last time we learned about Jesus’ visit to his hometown of Nazareth where he read the Scripture in the synagogue and declared that He is the Messianic deliverance. This week we will study the response of the people there, which at first was favorable, but then rapidly declined. One stumbling block for them was Jesus’ familiarity to them. He grew up among them. Then when He refused to work miracles, they turned on Him.
People today still misunderstand Jesus. All of us can be guilty of taking the familiar blessings of God for granted.
