The devil is not only a liar who seeks to deceive us, a tempter who seeks to ensnare us, and a murderer who seeks to kill us. He is an accuser who seeks to condemn us. The Hebrew meaning of the name Satan is, "accuser." And so we read in in our Bibles of, "the accuser of our brothers . . . who accuses them day and night before our God" (Rev.12:10). In his misery, Satan not only loves company — he demands it. He labors night and day to surround himself with the condemned. On occasion, the Bible offers allegorical insights into the schemes of Satan by means of a human counterpart – a shadow of Satan's character in human form. Acts 24 is one such occasion. Join us this Sunday, 01/29, as we examine "An Accuser in Satan's Shadow."
