Jaroslav Pelikan was an American scholar of the history of Christianity and medieval intellectual history at Yale University. His brilliance on matters of the historicity of the Christian Gospel is second-to-none. When summarizing the central point of the meaning of life, Dr. Pelikan wrote, "If Christ is risen, nothing else matters. And if Christ is not risen—nothing else matters" (No…that's not a typo). All of human history revolves around whether Jesus rose from the dead. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then we are still in our sins and the point of life is to pursue hedonistic pleasure, after which, we die and rot. Life is meaningless apart from the resurrection. If Jesus did rise from the dead, then everything else is trivial by way of comparison and our entire existence finds its meaning in Christ. No one in history exemplified this resurrection worldview better than the Apostle Paul when he was under trial. Join us on Sunday for a message from Acts 24 entitled, "No Resurrection. No Christianity."
