Sin brought the curse and judgment upon God's creation. The book of Revelation shows how the work of Christ will bring God's intention for His creation to His conclusion. Daniel 9:24-27 overviews God's plan for Israel. This plan will be resumed with the removal of the Church from the earth, the Church having been the focus of God's program for the last 2000 years since Acts 2. After the Church is removed the seven year tribulation will begin. The details of the final seven year phase of earth's history begin in chapter 6 of the book.
The tribulation begins on earth when Jesus Christ opens the first scroll in heaven. The significant and corresponding event that will occur on the earth will be the anti-christ signing the covenant of "peace." This time of great tribulation will involve three series of seven judgments to come upon the earth. These, as detailed in Revelation chapters 6-19, will take place sequentially. It will be the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth that will bring that horrendous time of judgment to its conclusion.
The first four seals are closely connected as judgment is called forth. Four riders on various colored horses depict the judgments to come - all by the power and authority God gives them. The revelation of the anti-christ, war, famine, and death will sweep over the earth, one event following the other as one seal after another is opened by Christ.
