I've read where Matthew Henry's Dad — Patric Henry — encouraged his children to read and memorize one verse from Psalm 119 every day. Therefore, for an entire year, they would go through the 176 verses twice. He shared with them it would help them grow to love the word. And by 17 Matthew Henry was already writing commentaries that are widely used to this day.
1. His Worth — The Worthiness of the Wondrously Wonderful God we serve.
2. His Wisdom — The Wonders of His wise and Winsome Word (and we shouldn't ever separate God from His word nor His word from Him)
3. His Work — The Walk and Ways His Working Witness
Look upon me and be merciful to me as Your custom is toward those who love Your name. Direct my steps by Your word; let no sin have dominion over me. Psalms 119:132
"His custom..." He can be trusted and followed and called upon and preached and shared and taught and waited upon because He's forever consistent and faithful... for there is no variation or shadow of turning with Him. Glory be.
My grandmother, several years before I was old enough to legally drive, promised me her car. And she never lied to us. As far as I knew, when she said she was gonna do something, she did it. And when I was about 11 or 12, maybe 13 years old, she promised me her car. She had the car — it was hers — and I knew it was mine. It was a 1979 Thunderbird. One big long car that stretched from here to the double back there and it was peach in color. We called it the Batmobile. We could fit 15 people in there and at times we had it loaded out. She promised me the car when I was around 12 years old, that it was mine and she'd give it to me when I turned 15.
