When we have a low view of theology and understanding of scripture, we risk misunderstanding the bible as Paul proclaims in these verses. Paul takes the Corinthians to task for their misunderstanding of the resurrection, but the overarching idea of these verses is that TRUTH MATTERS. In todays Christian world, holding firmly to doctrine is seen as divisive, but Paul plainly outlines for us how important standing firm on doctrine is, so that we know rightly the deep truths of the Gospel. We are urged to each study and understand the scriptures, and hold fast to the doctrine that we believe. Avoiding doctrine under the guise of unity is no unity at all. Holding fast with a family of believers that is like minded is TRUE UNITY. Please take time to listen to the Q&A after this sermon as we vet out more of this truth!
