It is wisdom on your part that as you seek to know and to do God's will, that you do so with the understanding that you exist in the midst of serious spiritual conflict. You will fill your place in God's redemptive plan according to your faith. Exodus 2:1-10 is food for your faith. The world-wide power of Satan is implicit in many texts particularly in Acts 26:16-18; but also Revelation 20:2,3; I John 5:19 and many others. Satan's servants, in this case Pharaoh, are more often than not, unaware that they are serving Satan's purposes. Yet we need caution in estimating the actual character of events: we must not make more of Satan's activity than scripture does, and we must not make less of satan's activity than the scriptures do. People today both Christians and lost people err on not giving enough emphasis to Satanic activity. This pasage in Exodus is a remarkable example of God's providential work through vessels of weakness: Note II Corinthians 4:7,12:9,10. Little has changed. "God's sovereign providence co-operates with human freedom and resposibility in bringing about desired results. The will of God was infallibly accomplished, yet no violence was done to the will of humman agents. Finally, "nothing is more important about you right now than your faith in God." This narrative shows satan's plan to rip some families apart. On the other hand, satan's plan for some "families" is to keep them together no matter what. In this connection secular cultural analyst Heather MacDonald has done some stunning research in her book THE BURDERN OF BAD IDEAS. The welfare entitlement culture is the anthithesis of faith and righteousness. It is a satanic sinkhole.
