Today is one of the most prominent “religious days” in American culture. It is the day in which the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated. But what is the meaning of His resurrection? And, just as important, what is the significance of His resurrection? And, furthermore, what are the implications of His resurrection? These are the issues that we really should be thinking about on this day. And I shall do so in this sermon. However, I am going to approach it in a slightly different manner by asking the question proposed in the title: What If Christ Isn't Raised? Would it really make any difference in this vast universe? Would it really make any difference in human history? Would it make any difference to you? The apostle Paul asked this question and raised all kinds of issues that would be true IF Jesus had not risen from the dead. But he doesn't stop there, for he reasserts the truth about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. In this sermon I shall simply follow the Apostle Paul's line of reasoning, working out his ad hominem argument. May the Lord be pleased to bless His word about this most glorious event in the history of the world!
