There are things we can know for certain like the truths of Scripture. But there are other things in the outworking of God's will that we do not know. In this passage from Esther, we learn about the kingdom of God and how in times of confusion and uncertainty we have opportunities to be used in this kingdom
1. There is a kingdom - The Jews were in captivity so that might not have been obvious but it was nonetheless true. - Even in captivity God has His way just as in the whirlwind - This kingdom was not just the kingdom of the Jews but the kingdom of God. - Mordecai knew God would preserve that kingdom. - Mordecai understood this kingdom would far outshine any of the kingdoms of this world.
2. There are critical times that come and go in the life of this kingdom - who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? - We have great opportunities to be used by the Lord at these times. - Mordecai realized God could use someone other than Esther to bring deliverance - But God could certainly use Esther and Esther needed to realize that.
3. Are we in this kingdom to be used during one of these critical times?
